London robotics community — founded 2026

Build the thing. Not just the deck.

A robotics club for London — students, researchers, engineers, founders and people building in their spare bedrooms, in one room. Workshops, build nights and project teams — open to complete beginners.

Founding now — the first session is being scheduled.

Mission

We exist to unite London's robotics community, and to give it somewhere to actually build.

Robotics in London is fragmented. University labs don't talk to startups, startups don't talk to hobbyists, and most people with a good idea never find the three other people they needed to build it. RLC is the room where those people meet — open to anyone, tied to no single institution, and organised around finished projects rather than good intentions.

What we do

Six things, run properly.

01

Technical workshops

ROS, control systems, perception, and mechanical design — taught by people who use them.

02

Project teams

Small teams building one ambitious robot across a term.

03

Build sessions

Open bench time. Bring whatever you're stuck on.

04

Guest lectures

Researchers and engineers from London labs and companies.

05

Company visits

Inside the robotics companies actually shipping hardware.

06

Competitions and hackathons

Weekend builds, and teams entered into national events.

Who joins

No gatekeeping.

If you want to build robots, you're in. Experience helps, but nobody checks it at the door.

How to join

Three steps, starting today.

  1. 01
    Join the mailing list

One email when we announce the first session. No newsletter, no spam.

  2. 02
    Come to a session

Workshops and open build nights. Turn up, meet people, see what's on the bench.

  3. 03
    Pick up a project

Join a project team, or bring your own build and find people to work on it with you.

Or help run it

Four founding roles are open.

Separate from joining — this is for people who want to shape how the club works rather than just attend.
